Something does not seem to ring true here. I could not understand why Matthys Daniel and Johanna Roode signed the baptismal certificate. have him as born 1810 and part of Joachim Hendrik's family in the Free State and we know that Johanna was from Elliot. It would make more sense if her father's elder brother Matthys Daniel b. 1823 signed the certificate. Suggest that Johanna Roode is at present not allocated to the right Matthys Daniel.
