Mathys and Anna were married in a religious ceremony on May 6th, 1861. They had ten sons and four daughters, named Johannes, Jacobus, Matthys, Jacobus, Hermanus, Jacob, Wynand, Pieter, Wynand, Stephanus, Anna, Susanna, Jacoba and Esther.

Matthys was born in 1865. He died at the age of 29 in 1894 in Langberg, Wakkerstroom.
Jacob Johannes Pretorius
Jacob was born in 1872. He died at the age of 28 in 1900 in Bosrand Colenso.
Pieter Jacobus Pretorius
Pieter was born in 1880. He died at the age of 19 on October 20th, 1899 in Slag van Dundee.
Jacoba Elisabeth Pretorius
Jacoba was born on April 29th, 1886 and her baptism took place on August 28th, 1886 in Lindley.
