Jan Viljoen Coetzee 
Jan was born in 1789 and his baptism took place on February 16th, 1789 in Cape of Good Hope. Jan's father was Johannes (Hans) Coetzee and his mother was Hester Viljoen. His paternal grandparents were Johannes (Jan) Jacobus Coetzee and Johanna A Cloete; his maternal grandparents were Johannes Viljoen and Anna Cornelia Venter. He had four brothers and seven sisters, named Johannes, Maarten, Abraham, Henning, Anna, Hester, Margaretha, Francina, Maria, Anna and Susanna. He was the fifth oldest of the twelve children. He died at the age of 63 on April 27th, 1852 in Cape of Good Hope.-
