Now refers to herself as Gauch (meaning Gauch-proper pronounciation of Gous/Gauch a Latyn word meaning 'the man is joyful' ; Andre Gauch coming to the Cape of Good Hope murdered by a Bekker. My grandfather Jan Thomas Martens named 'Tommy the Dutch Reformed Minister was married to Eleanor Ann Martin. They had three daughters: Christina or nickname Crystel (late) married to Marthinus Oosthuizen who has a daughter with the same name who is a director. The other child Jan is Cerebralpaulsy; due to Christel who had some illness during pregnancy. I think German measles. The other sister is Joan Martens who still lives- very frail at Jefreysbay Old age home. She adopted two daughters before having her own/named Marguerite. Joan married Flippie Retief. If you go in the Website of DAMESFONTEIN /farm/farmmuseum at Graaff-Reinet you will find it very interesting. This was all done up by Marguerite now married to Tiefie Wolfaardt.
The third and oldest sister was my mother Marguerite Tredoux Martens a Primary school teacher married to my father Sarel Jacobus Gous later Prof at the Department of Education at UPE. He comes from the Gous - family from Kuruman. She had two children: myself Eleanor Marguerite Gous(married twice to M J Stencel and divorced) and my brother Jan Thomas Gerard Gous an retired accountant who lives in Pretoria Sunnyside in a small bacholar flat. M J Stencel has remarried a long time ago. I am still single. I have one son Terence Stencel living in London United Kingdom.
