Pieter Frans Karsten

Pieter was born on January 12th, 1846 in Stellenbosch and his baptism took place there on February 22nd, 1846.  Pieter's father was Nicolaas (Klaas) Karsten and his mother was Louisa Christina Martins (Johanna). He had a brother and a sister, named Hendrik and Magdalena.  He was the youngest of the three children.
