Johannes Lodewicus Maartens

Johannes was born about 1870.  Johannes' father was Paul Jacobus Maartens and his mother was Hester Maria Magdalena Roets.  His maternal grandparents were Petrus Johannes Roets (Nicolaas) and Johanna  Hendrina Mynhardt. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Petrus, Paul, Petrus, Johanna, Martha  and Hester.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died from a heart attack, Myocardial degeneration, on September 8th, 1931 in Maitland, Cape Town.  He was buried in Maitland No. 3 Cemetery.
