Pieter Johannes Malan

Pieter was born on August 9th, 1862 in Queenstown. Pieter's father was Jacobus Nicolaas Malan and his mother was Margaretha Magdalena Smith. His paternal grandparents were Jacobus Malan and Margaretha Maria Swart; his maternal grandfather was Pieter Johannes Smith and his maternal grandmother is Aletta Dorothea Coetzee (Johanna). He had two brothers and five sisters, named Petrus, Daniel, Margaretha, Martha, Helena, Johanna and Martha. Pieter and Daniel were twins. He had six half-brothers and a half-sister, named Jacobus, Petrus, Jacobus, John, Henry, Hercules and Johanna.
