Petrus was born on April 9th, 1911 in Bloemfontein and his baptism took place there on June 4th, 1911.  Petrus' father was Johannes Jacobus Pienaar and his mother was Anna Maria Maartens (Jacoba).  His paternal grandparents were Petrus Albertus Pienaar and Anna Catharina Kruger. He had two sisters named Jacoba and Anna.  He was the oldest of the three children.  He died at the age of 49 on September 9th, 1960.
