Ferdinand Cornelis Pretorius 
Ferdinand was born on August 7th, 1829 and his christening took place on September 13th, 1829 in Cradock. Ferdinand's father was Wynand Johannes Pretorius and his mother was Elizabeth Catharina Hartzenberg. His paternal grandparents were Roelof Gerhardus Pretorius (Petrus) and Anna Catharina Hatting. He had three brothers and two sisters, named Roelof, Wynand, Roelof, Elizabeth and Hendriena. He was the second oldest of the six children. He died at the age of 68 on July 12th, 1898 in OFS.-
