Jacob was born on February 6th, 1839 in Cape of Good Hope and his baptism took place on March 10th, 1839 in Colesberg. Jacob's father was Florus Marthinus Venter (Wynand) and his mother is Levina Doretta Kruger (Aletta). His paternal grandparents were Jacob Venter and Maria Magdalena Pretorius (Sophia); his maternal grandparents were Jacob Johannes Kruger and Maria Margaretha Vorster. He had four brothers named Johannes, Florus, Johannes and Casper. He was the oldest of the five children. Jacob is no longer alive.General Notes
