Her paternal grandparents were Johannes Hendrik Vorster and Sophia Aletta de Meyer (Jacoba). She had a brother and a sister, named Frederik and Jacoba. She was the oldest of the three children. She died due to natural causes or old age, Senility, at the age of 89 on August 23rd, 1932 in Mquanduli Umtata Transkei. She was buried in Mquanduli.General Notes
