Frances was born on February 23rd, 1892. Frances' father was Elija Henry Wiggell and her mother was Lavina Catharina Pretorius (Elizabeth). Her paternal grandparents were Elija Wiggell and Harriet Frances Bentley. She had ten half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Elija, Percival, Johannes, Albertus, Frances, Russel, Leslie, Johan, Charles, Arthur, Jane and Martha.-
