Paulus was born on March 18th, 1896 in Cedarville, Dist. Matatiele and his baptism took place there on April 1st, 1896.  His godfather was David Frederick de Bruin and his godmother was Cecilia Maria (Maartens) de Bruin .  He died at the age of 74 on June 24th, 1970 in Durban.
