George James van der Merwe

George's father was Schalk Willem van der Merwe and his mother is Cornelia Georgina Smit.  His paternal grandparents were Schalk Willem van der Merwe and Catharina van der Merwe. He had two brothers and a sister, named William, George and Wilhelmina. He had three half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Schalk, Hercules, Joseph, Anna, Catherina, Ruth and Gertruida.  He died before 1973.
