Antoine Charl Auguste van Rooy

Antoine was born on November 24th, 1857 in At sea on Dutch liner Karel August.  Antoine's father was Johannes Cornelis van Rooy and his mother was Anne Francoise Holsters.  His paternal grandparents were Hendrik van Rooy and Clara Kuijpers; his maternal grandparents were Charles Holsters and Petronella de Gilter. He had four brothers and five sisters, named Henri, Willem, Johannes, Jacobus, Clara, Anna, Paulina, Frederika and Gertruida.  He died from a stroke, Cerebral Haemorage, at the age of 90 on May 31st, 1948 in Reitz St. 20, Potchefstroom.  He was buried in Potchefstroom.
