Frieda Heinzelmann 
Frieda was born on January 9th, 1916. Frieda's father was Maximilian Ludwig Heinzelmann and her mother was Elsje Josina Maartens. Her maternal grandparents were Johannes Lodewicus Maartens and Emma Sophia Grey Woodward. She had a sister named Emma. She had two half-brothers named Heinrich and Maximilian.General Notes
Frieda’s father Maximilian Ludwig Heinzelmann was born in Bavaria in 1888 and emigrated at age 19 to the Eastern Cape where he met Elzie and they settled down as farmers in Ida, Elliot. During this time he was also held as a POW in Pietermariztburg KZN.
When Elzie died Max remarried to Wilhemina Frederika Van Zyl ( a widow with a daughter Theresa born 1913 and a son Jannie born 1916 – the same year her husband Jan Christian Matthys Van Zyl died). They had 2 sons together Heinrich and Maximilian Ludwig.
Frieda was schooled in Aliwal North at the convent and later went to university in Pretoria where she met my father in law Johannes Myburg. They had 4 children. Amanda born 1944, Hannes 1949, Leona 1952 and Andries in 1953

From state archives it proves that Max was interned at the start of the war, released on parole 25 Mar 1915 and reinterred on 11 Jun 1915. Finally released to Delmas on 18 Jul 1919.
