Maria Jacoba Koetze 
Maria was born about 1762 in Swartland (Malmesbury),de Caep de Goede Hoop. Maria's father was Johannes (Jan) Jacobus Coetzee and her mother was Johanna A Cloete. Her paternal grandparents were Johannes (Jan) Coutie/Coetzee and Anna Elizabeth Paal; her maternal grandparents were Gerrit Cloete and Huibrecht Slabbert. She had five brothers and six sisters, named Gerrit, Hans, Dirk, Maartin, Abraham, Anna, Huibregje, Margretha, Francina, Anna and Johanna. She was the sixth oldest of the twelve children. She died on September 29th, 1849 in Grootfontein veldkornetskap Rhenosterberg, Graaff Reine.-
