Cecilia Jacomina Sophia Maartens 
Cecilia was born about 1870 in "Bloemfontein", dist.Bethlehem. Cecilia's father was Joachim Hendrik Maartens and her mother was Cecilia Jacomina Sophia Meintjies. Her paternal grandparents were Daniel Matthijs Maartens and Catharina Maria van Niekerk; her maternal grandparents were Jacobus Meintjes and Elizabeth Engela Smit. She had six brothers and six sisters, named Daniel, Koos, Joachim, Abraham, Johannes, Jacobus, Catharina, Mita, Elizabeth, Johanna, Susanna and Maria. She was the seventh oldest of the thirteen children. She died on February 22nd, 1898 in Bethlehem.-
