David (Boet) Schalk Maartens 
David, known as Boet, was born on March 30th, 1918. Boet's father was Jacob Johannes Maartens and his mother was Johanna Susanna Elizabeth Kruger. His paternal grandparents were David Schalk Maartens and Johanna Susanna Elisabeth Viljoen; his maternal grandparents were Willem Jacobus Johannes Kruger and Anna Elizabeth Maartens. He had two sisters named Anne and Johanna. He had two half-brothers and four half-sisters, named Jacob, Benoni, Bettie, Nellie, Babs and Tiekie. He died due to a cardiac arrest at the age of 85 on December 5th, 2003 in Welkom. He was buried in VREDEFORT, Main cemetery.General Notes
