Petronella (Nellie) Elizabeth Maartens 
Petronella, known as Nellie, was born on June 17th, 1922 in Bloemfontein. Nellie's father was Jacob Johannes Maartens and her mother was Josina Elizabeth Havenga. Her paternal grandparents were David Schalk Maartens and Johanna Susanna Elisabeth Viljoen; her maternal grandparents were Hendrik Stephanus Havenga and Elizabeth Catharina Smit. She had two brothers and three sisters, named Jacob, Benoni, Bettie, Babs and Tiekie. She had a half-brother and two half-sisters, named Boet, Anne and Johanna. She died at the age of 82 on April 3rd, 2005 in Fleurenville Old Age Home, Pretoria. She was buried in Pretoria East Cemetary.-
