Izaak Stephanus Maartens 
Izaak's father was Francois Maartens and his mother was Hester Maria Magdalena Rabie. His paternal grandparents were Joachim Hendrik Maartens and Catharina Anna Francina Groenewald (Elizabeth). He had seven sisters named Christien, Maria, Esther, Annie, Jacomina, Jacoba and Wilmien. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Joachim, Johannes, Francois, Johanna and Catharina.-
