Maria Magdalena Catharina Martens 
Maria was born on March 15th, 1896 and her baptism took place on June 28th, 1896. Maria's father was Jan Thomas Martens and her mother was Susannah Engela Vermaak. Her paternal grandparents were Cornelius Jacobus Martens and Victoria Liversage; her maternal grandparents were Jacobus Stephanus Vermaak and Susanna Engela Odendaal. She had four brothers and five sisters, named Cornelius, Jacobus, Thomas , Christiaan, (San, Victoria , Hannie, Harriet and Anna . She was the third youngest of the ten children. She had a half-brother and a half-sister, named Johannes and Regina . She died at the age of 51 on November 6th, 1947 in Lydenburg Hospital.General Notes
