Jacobus Francois Pretorius 
Jacobus was born on August 16th, 1854 and his baptism took place on September 9th, 1855 in Potchefstroom Herformde Kerk. Jacobus' father was Marthinus Wessel Pretorius and his mother was Debora Jacoba Retief. His paternal grandparents were Henning Petrus Pretorius (Nicolaas) and Johanna Christina Vorster. He had seven brothers named Henning, Pieter, Marthinus, Johanna, Jacobus, Barend and Andries. He was the fourth youngest of the eight children. He died at the age of 80 on February 22nd, 1935 in Kroonstad.-
