Hester Maartens 
Hester's father was Willem Pieter Maartens and her mother was Christina Gesina Hendrina van Biljon. Her paternal grandparents were Choert Maartens and Magteld Maria Vorster. She had five brothers and four sisters, named William, Harold, Joresson, Eric, Percy, Ada, Alrica, Bertha and Christina. She is the oldest of the ten children.-
