Pieter Johannes Maartens

Pieter was born on October 6th, 1910.  Pieter's father was Jan George Mathom (Frederick) and his mother was Emerentia Hester Pienaar (Elizabeth).  His paternal grandparents were George Frederick Mathom and Anna Christina Small (Francina). He had two brothers and four sisters, named George, Willem, Emerencia, Anna, Rachel and Martha.  He was the oldest of the seven children.  He died from a heart attack, Coronary Thrombosis, at the age of 75 on November 26th, 1985 in Wepener.
