Rachel Charlotte Maartens

Rachel was born on July 9th, 1925 and her baptism took place on September 6th, 1925 in Trompsburg.  Rachel's father was Jan George Mathom (Frederick) and her mother was Emerentia Hester Pienaar (Elizabeth).  Her paternal grandparents were George Frederick Mathom and Anna Christina Small (Francina). She had three brothers and three sisters, named Pieter, George, Willem, Emerencia, Anna and Martha.  She was the third youngest of the seven children.
