Christina Gertruida Martens 
Christina was born on September 18th, 1882 and her baptism took place on November 3rd, 1882. Christina's father was Jacobus Joshua Francois Martens and her mother was Susanna Elisabeth Martens. Her paternal grandparents were Hendrik Jacobus Martens and Elizabeth Maria Roos; her maternal grandparents were Jacobus Cornelis Martens and Margaretha Susanna Cloete. She had four brothers and seven sisters, named Hendrik, Jacobus, Francois, John, Magrietha, Frederika, Tant Pauli, Maria, Susanna, Marthina and Wilhelmina. She was the third youngest of the twelve children. She had two half-sisters named Elizabeth and Duckie.-
