Johannes Lodewyk Pretorius

Johannes was born in 1835.  Johannes' father was Henning Petrus Pretorius (Nicolaas) and his mother was Johanna Christina Vorster.  His paternal grandparents were Marthinus Wessel Pretorius and Susanna Elizabeth Viljoen. He had six brothers and a sister, named Marthinus, Barend, Henning, Hendrik, Andries, Jacobus and Johanna.  He was the second youngest of the eight children. He had six half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Albertus, Diederik, Christiaan, Johannes, Ignaas, Koert, Martha and Susanna.  He died at the age of 30 in 1865.
