Philippus (Flip) Cornelius Swanepoel (Johannes) 
Philippus, known as Flip, was born on May 17th, 1937 in Samenrus, Rouxville. Flip's father was Christiaan Hendrik Swanepoel and his mother was Margaret Emily Maartens. His paternal grandparents were Philippus Johannes Swanepoel (Cornelius) and Johanna Christina Jansen van Rensburg; his maternal grandparents were Philippus Johannes Cornelis Martens and Sophia Jacobus Terblanche. He had a brother and a sister, named Christiaan and Nana. He was the oldest of the three children. He died at the age of 74 on October 12th, 2011 in Bloemfontein.-
