William Jervois of the Albany museum wrote as follows about Samuel Liversage: I have browsed through our Liversage file and can only offer the sad news that, although most of Samuel (snr)'s children are quite well documented, there is nothing to add to Samuel (jnr), other than to say that Glen Linden is up in the Winterberg , quite a long way to the north of here. From there, at a fairly early date, Samuel (snr) migrated to Natal and settled near Howick, where he and his second wife died and are buried on the farm presently called "Benvie", but which was then calle d Nooitgedaght", in the Kaarkloof. Samuel (snr) was accompanied by most of his children, with the apparent exception of Samuel (jnr). I get the feeling that there may have been friction between the two

There was a Paulus Roald Maartens who graduated from Pretoria University as doctor in 1955.(S.A. MEDICAL JOURNAL 1 January 1955)
OBIT:
Roald Maartens
Elsa Wessels
KAAPSTAD.
Ongelukkig was hy in baie opsigte sy tyd ver vooruit.

Death notice signed by A.Moolman as being present at her death.
Previous information had her as Sophia Aletta van Dyk (Jacoba). No dates or further substantiation. Could be that she was previously a van Dyk? At that point I had all 4 children allocated to her. The cross-reference to Sophia Aletta Labuschagne provided one child; Catharina Aletta Maartens.
(Another remote possibility is that the van Dyk belonged to another Joachim Hendrik.)

Bykomende inligtin a.g. Jakkalskop
