Hendrina Magdalena van der Merwe 
Hendrina was born on February 24th, 1819 in Achter de Sneeuwberg, Graaff-Reinet. Hendrina's father was Hendrik Jacobus van der Merwe and her mother was Hester Sophia Maartens. Her paternal grandfather is Hendrik Jacobus van der Merwe and her paternal grandmother was Maria van Wijk; her maternal grandparents were Joachim Hendrik Martens and Hendrina Magdalena van der Merwe. She had a brother and four sisters, named Hendrik, Anna, Maria, Johanna and Jacomina. She had an adopted brother named Marthinus. She died at the age of 33 on May 17th, 1852 in Blaauwkrans (Patrysfontein) Victoria, Beaufort.-
