Nicolaas Francois Grobbelaar 
Nicolaas was born on August 4th, 1871 in Graaff Reinet and his christening took place there on November 5th, 1871. Nicolaas' father was Hendrik Joachim Grobbelaar and his mother was Martha Etresia van den Berg. His paternal grandparents were Albertus Stephanus Grobbelaar and Susanna Elizabeth Martens. He had three brothers and three sisters, named Albertus, Nicolaas, Hendrik, Anna, Susanna and Martha. He was the fourth oldest of the seven children. He had three half-brothers and two half-sisters, named Matthys, David, Martin, Hester and Johanna.-
