Bertha Cornelia Higgs

Bertha was born on May 19th, 1890 in Ladybrand.  Bertha's father was William Edward Higgs and her mother was Cornelia Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were William Charles Higgs and Catherine Emily Austen. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Willie, Clement, Jock, Claude, Bertie, May, Ethel, Alice, Gladys, Ida, Harry and Irene .  She was the fifth youngest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 80 on June 19th, 1970.
