Mabel (May) Constance Higgs

Mabel, known as May, was born on May 29th, 1876 in Arminia, District Ladybrand.  May's father was William Edward Higgs and her mother was Cornelia Jones.  Her paternal grandparents were William Charles Higgs and Catherine Emily Austen. She had five brothers and seven sisters, named Willie, Clement, Jock, Claude, Bertie, Ethel, Alice, Gladys, Ida, Bertha, Harry and Irene .  She was the second oldest of the thirteen children.  She died at the age of 41 on May 2nd, 1918.
