Walter (Jock) Austen Higgs

Walter, known as Jock, was born on July 10th, 1884 in Mohalis Hoek, Basutoland.  Jock's father was William Edward Higgs and his mother was Cornelia Jones.  His paternal grandparents were William Charles Higgs and Catherine Emily Austen. He had four brothers and eight sisters, named Willie, Clement, Claude, Bertie, May, Ethel, Alice, Gladys, Ida, Bertha, Harry and Irene .  He was the sixth oldest of the thirteen children.  He died at the age of 72 on July 14th, 1956.
