Louwrens Petrus Erasmus Maartens 
Louwrens was born on January 30th, 1862. Louwrens' father was Hendrik Joachim Maartens and his mother was Elizabeth Magdalena van Jaarsveld. His paternal grandparents were Joachim Hendrik Martens and Louisa Maria Grobbelaar; his maternal grandparents were Adriaan Zacharias van Jaarsveld (Albertus) and Elizabeth Magdalena van Jaarsveld. He had five brothers and four sisters, named Adriaan, Mathias, Abraham, Nicolaas, Hendrik, Elizabeth, Louisa, Magdalena and Susanna. He was the fourth youngest of the ten children. He died in an accident or as a result of an injury at the age of 51 on June 1st, 1913 in On main road Wepener/Aliwal-North near Nieuwejaarspruit.General Notes
