Josua Jacobus Mare 
Josua was born on November 26th, 1837 in Graaff Reinet. Josua's father was Jacob Gerhardus Mare and his mother was Jacomina Frederica Elizabeth Martens. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Philippus Mare and Sara Susanna du Toit; his maternal grandparents were Jacobus Martens and Maria Magdalena Joubert. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Jacobus, Jacobus, Gabriel, Hendrik, Petrus, Josua, Jacob, Maria, Sara, Jacomina, Jacomina, Margaret and Jacomina. He died at 11 months old on November 21st, 1838.-
