Petrus Ignatius Mare 
Petrus was born on December 10th, 1829 in Graaff Reinet and his christening took place there on January 1st, 1830. Petrus' father was Jacob Gerhardus Mare and his mother was Jacomina Frederica Elizabeth Martens. His paternal grandparents were Jacob Philippus Mare and Sara Susanna du Toit; his maternal grandparents were Jacobus Martens and Maria Magdalena Joubert. He had seven brothers and six sisters, named Jacobus, Jacobus, Gabriel, Hendrik, Josua, Josua, Jacob, Maria, Sara, Jacomina, Jacomina, Margaret and Jacomina. He died at the age of 35 on November 18th, 1865.-
