Nicolaas Johannes Zeeberg Martens (Geeberg) 
Nicolaas was born on May 31st, 1805 in Stellenbosch and his baptism took place on June 9th, 1805 in Cape Town. Nicolaas' father was Jacobus Martens and his mother was Maria Magdalena Joubert. His paternal grandparents were Joachim Heinrich Martens and Jacomina van den Berg; his maternal grandparents were Josua Joachim Joubert and Maria Magdalena van der Berg. He had five brothers and five sisters, named Jacobus, Jozua, Jacobus, Jan, Hendrik, Maria, Jacomina, Anna, Johanna and Anna. He was the fourth youngest of the eleven children.General Notes
