Charles William Brown Martens 
Charles was born on May 12th, 1882 and his baptism took place on February 12th, 1888 in Rouxville. Charles 's father was Gert Lukas Martens and his mother was Cornelia Johanna Swanepoel (Philippina). His maternal grandparents were Philippus Johannes Swanepoel (Cornelius) and Cornelia Johanna Gouws. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Hendrick, Philippus, Hendrik, Gert, Johan, Thomas , Cornelia and Elizabeth. He was the third youngest of the nine children. He died at the age of 44 on September 16th, 1926 in Roodepoort.General Notes
