Thomas Martens

Thomas was born on December 23rd, 1887 and his baptism took place on February 12th, 1888 in Rouxville. Thomas 's father was Gert Lukas Martens and his mother was Cornelia Johanna Swanepoel (Philippina). His maternal grandparents were Philippus Johannes Swanepoel (Cornelius) and Cornelia Johanna Gouws. He had six brothers and two sisters, named Hendrick, Philippus, Hendrik, Gert, Charles , Johan, Cornelia and Elizabeth. He was the youngest of the nine children.
