Willem Pieter Jacobus Maartens (Willem Petrus Jacobus) 
Willem was born on January 30th, 1864 in Barkly East. Willem's father was Willem (Willem Golden Fleece) Pieter Maartens and his mother was Catherina Aletta Jansen van Rensburg. His paternal grandparents were Joachim Hendrik Martens and Louisa Maria Grobbelaar; his maternal grandparents were Barend Nicolaas Janse van Rensburg (Stephanus) and Martha Johanna van Straaten. He had four brothers and three sisters, named Barend, Joachim, Nicolaas, Pieter, Louisa, Catharina and Martha. He was the oldest of the eight children. He died due to heart disease, Dropsy, at the age of 55 on June 23rd, 1919 in Cedarville, Dist. Matatiele. He was buried in "Allingthun", Matatiele.Death Notes
